Obvious solution is not to be on social media and not use Venmo.

Saw a headline that low money sports are getting more and more high money bets and it is very concerning because of the lure of cheating and getting paid more by bettors than you make playing the sport.
Betting has always been stupid and should be banned outright

Pablo Torre interviewed someone who used to build models to get ahead of the spread and he says that the betting is worse than people realize because only newbs would bet on player lines since those lines are sensitive and are easy to detect.
Throwing the over/under or covering the spread can be easier to do and harder to detect.
I’m just learning from the Luis Ortiz news that you can bet on individual pitches, including speed. I know some major gambling degenerates, but betting individual pitches is next level.
I mean, if you can bet on the color of the gatorade bath in the super bowl, what CAN’T you bet on?
I had a friend I used to try to make bets like “I bet this batter calls time and steps out of the box during this at-bat” or “at some point that guy’s jersey will get dirty”. This was at the stadium as we were watching the game lol

the article in the ringer that dove into some of the data on the pitchers was…strong IMO that there were some odd behaviors from the accused.
