anyone agrees with me that this question is wrongly worded by using the unpaid claims analysis in the title while the estimates given in the table are referring to the ultimates but not the unpaid amount.
Ultimate and unpaid go hand in hand. It’s not exactly wrongly worded.
It’s not even approximately wrongly worded. By far the most common ways to project unpaid claims involve projecting ultimate claims and then subtracting paid from that.
