No margarita mix at Costco.
I’m going to translate that as a
But there were still chikkinz there, right??? Asking for a friend…
We used all the sugar in the house on the weekend. My SO tells me that they can’t get anymore at the grocery store.
It’s a bit of a drive but I can def lend you a cup of sugar
Oh man. Sugar? I use 1# of this in one of me always on tap beers
I just bought a big bag of sugar in grocery store.
IT’S OK EVERYONE! I’M CANADIAN SO I HAVE A FULL STOCK OF MAPLE SYRUP IN THE EVENT OF A WORST CASE SCENARIO!!!
We used all the sugar while canning pickles. Our next canning event is likely peaches, and I make those with maple syrup instead of sugar anyway.
Mmmmm, real maple syrup…
My Costco is doing some remodelling/construction and they took out big parts of the back of the store including the chicken rotisserie and the big part of the open cold case displays. The also took out 1 of 2 complete freezer banks.
So my next trip to Costco will have to be to one of the ones that are a few towns away, at least if I want a full selection of my usual shtuff.
WTF?
That’s like taking out the beating heart of Costco.
I don’t know if there is even more than one Costco in my state.
There are 10 in the greater Chicago area. 4 are within a 25 min drive from me.
There are at least 10 within an hour drive of me. Closest is 2.2 miles.
Wow, Costco Heaven! (or the other place? I still haven’t been in one.)
Not sure what the Business Model is for Costco, but I get an idea that 100000 residents is about the minimum for one typically-sized Costco. Now, there are five Costco’s in the San Fernando Valley (“The Valley” 'round these parts), and it has a population of 1.75 million, but they are all in a ten-mile radius. And they’re often quite packed. And, there is not a lot of open space (well, could convert some empty office buildings) to build more.
Well, there are 2 in my metro area, population 1 mil but also kinda spread out? There is only one other in my state. There are a gajillion Sams Clubs. Obv I live in the po.
When I vacation, I have been known to plan my trip around access to out-of-state Costcos, so I have been to many.
For the record, they are about 95% or more the same wherever you go, but the fun part is seeing what the (up to) 5% differences are! Like in some states, you cannot buy liquor at Costco. Here the liquor (such as Kirkland tequila) is right over by the baked goods. Some states allow Costco to sell beer and wine, but not liquor. Those seem to have many more beer & wine options.
In Florida, the Costcos have more seafood options. Go figure. Most Costcos have merch that supports local sports teams, like shirts, sweatshirts, even folding chairs.
The Wisconsin Costcos do sell New Glarus beer, which is available only in Wisconsin. Bottlegging New Glarus to Illinois is a common thing to do
