Shasta County deserves its own thread

We had the County fair folks killing a 4H kid’s goat. Thought that was all that was happening? No way.

Now, while this is in California, it’s not all sunshine and daisies and, this time of year, poppies.

On the positive side, the Redding local brewery “Final Draft” has some excellent Porters.

@dr_t_non-fan you weren’t joking, this place definitely deserves its own thread.

Bertain estimated that the county would be on the hook for at least an additional $3 million in expenses through the 2024-2025 fiscal year if not well more with the county needing to hire more than 1,500 ballot counters for the 2024 presidential election.

with the county needing to hire more than 1,500 ballot counters for the 2024 presidential election.

In the 2020 election, Shasta county had about 67,000 votes.

If it takes 1,500 people to count the votes, each person is counting 45 votes.

I’m in on facts too.

Shasta County has a total area of 3,847 square miles (9,966 square kilometers).

It has 99 precincts, each with multiple voting sites possible.
