Self-Driving vehicles

What’s really cool is that is still an option. I can use the service or not.

This guy used to drive a Tesla but switched to Lucid. Got mad at Musk and sold his Tesla after his wife was let go as part of Doge (that’ll show him!).

Results in much disappoint.

If traffic lights aren’t working aren’t you supposed to treat it like a 4 way stop? Or is that only when they are flashing?

ETA or is that what you were stating and not what they were doing?

The Waymo vehicles tried to phone home when power went out and something in their system couldn’t handle it and the cars stopped at non functioning lights instead of doing the 4 way stop thing.

Imagine two lanes of traffic in the same direction. Waymo A pulls up to the traffic light that isn’t working and it just stops and sits there. More cars get stuck behind A. Waymo B approaches traveling the same direction, sees the stopped cars and correctly selects the less congested lane, gets to the traffic light, stops, and just sits there. That direction of travel is now done, more cars pile up. Same thing happens to the other three directions and you’ve got a huge traffic jam

I’m sure Waymo will fix this problem though. It’s a great service.

That’s pretty awesome. I haven’t driven that much in year. Have you had any scary interventions or just inconvenient/not quite right stuff?

No safety interventions. Most interventions are for a preferred route change.

about 2600 on the MY since FSD(S) 14.2 release, 98% of which are FSD(S). that does include a 1000 mi round trip to visit friends in OH

no safety interventions. i’d be content if FSD never got any better than this. it’s underpriced at $100/mo. a huge benefit for us as we age and are less comfortable driving at night, driving in rain, etc.

Interesting move. Any Tesla drivers considering them?

How is Lemonade still in business? -

Agreed. They have been losing money for years but investors keep pumping in more capital support.

not available in my state

Investment income allows a P&C insurer to operate with a combined ratio > 1.00.

But agree that Lemonade is milking venture capitalists’ investment sentiments.

The answer is simple: volume.

Reminds me of one of my favorite SNL clips.

We have Lemonade! They insured my very old 300k house for $60/month. And in the past 5 or so years they quadrupled our rates and then canceled our coverage. Good times were had by all.
