Seahawks Are Still For Real This Time

Lockett almost always has a good game. He is a great receiver. Not as fast, strong or tall as Metcalf but great hands and knows how to get open.

One of the more impressive aspect of yesterday’s game by the Seahawks’ offense is that they kept Geno clean (one coverage sack and just three other QB hits) against the #1 defense and presumptive NFL Defensive MVP.
This was accomplished when being down not one, but two starters on the offensive line.

And, as always, Geno’s play was no way near as bad as fans’ initial reactions would lead you to believe.

And most importantly, game winning touchdown drive in the final final four minutes.

Finally, that Interception at the end of the first was due to a blatant missed call by the refs. Garrett was lined up with his hand on the offense’s side of the football. Not even close. Geno threw a bad ball, but he also was throughing a riskier pass as he should have had a free play.

The biggest test for the Hawks this season will be the four games starting November 23. They play SF twice, Dallas and Philadelphia in that period. A split of those games would be a great outcome, especially if at least one of the wins was against SF.

Next week against the Ravens might be their toughest match outside those four. I am hoping the Rams loss in Week 1 was just an off-day.

It is frustrating looking at the schedule to date, and seeing those two losses that should not have happened.

Hoping the Seahawks can at least stay as healthy as they are now.
Missing two offensive line starters.
#1 pass rusher out for the season (he is not coming back soon).

But another one coming to town, apparently…

Ian Rapoport on X: “The #Giants are finalizing a deal to send Pro Bowl DL Leonard Williams to the #Seahawks, per me and @MikeGarafolo, giving them financial flexibility. https://t.co/GD3J44xh4z” / X (twitter.com)

This acquisition sounds positive for the Hawks and Williams should enjoy playing for a contender.

Wowzers.
That seems like a huge get.
Steep price wrt draft capital.

Hopefully Geno can take these team deep into the playoffs.

Clearly the front office believes in this team.

Different position than Nwosu, who is an edge vs williams a 3-4 DE.

Clark signing last week was to help depth at Edge.
I guess the other hope is for Darrel Taylor to keep playing like he did against the Browns.

Williams will be a good add. Should be worth price. Edge rusher is good because but a strong DT anchoring middle is always welcome.

Nobody is talking Hawks yet. Still Eagles, Niners with some Lions. Next 4 weeks big. 3-1 will have everybody talking.

Trust me, I know! I had Tyler Lockett and Russell Wilson on my fantasy team a few years ago. I think there was one game where Wilson made four TD passes to Lockett in a single game. When you’ve got both the QB and the receiver, that’s a buttload of points (12 points for each TD since you’re getting the points for both players, plus more points for all the yards… again for both players). I think I would have won that week even if I had benched the entire rest of my team and only played those two.

I ended up getting the most points on the season, thanks largely to Wilson & Lockett! Lockett did have a few dud games though, but overall he was a great pick.

As a Seahawks/Bengals fan, watching the two divisions play each other it’s doubly important that my teams win. (Bengals beating the 49ers was good for both Cincinnati and Seattle, Seahawks beating the Browns was good for both Seattle and Cincinnati.)

So while I have mixed feelings on the Bengals/Seahawks game, it makes the rest of the AFC North / NFC West matchups that we’re seeing this season all the more compelling.

Some people are talking Ravens as well. Next week’s game will be a major test for Hawks. Geno has to have a good game as he can be inconsistent.

Still 80% for this to be shown here.
Will know for sure tomorrow, though I could check the YouTubeTV.

I guess not. IND (3-5, last place) at CAR (1-6, last place) at 1PM PST.
I guess the LAR (and Fox, and CBS) can’t handle the competition.
So, not watching any NFL Football this weekend.

Trying to make sense of the Young & Sweat trades

Dang… Ravens brought their A game. Hopefully the Hawks can match that TD on their next possession.

Anyone else watching?

It’s in in the background while I do word games. Both teams defenses look good. Ravens QB is doing well.

Crap!
