Seahawks Are Still For Real This Time

I don’t follow… wouldn’t the Packers and the Seahawks then be tied with the Packers getting the tie-breaker?

How can the Packers have the tiebreaker if both teams are 9-8 but the Seahawks have the tiebreaker if both teams are 8.5-8.5?

I think the Seahawks must win unless there is something about tie-breakers I don’t understand. (Which is easily true, but it’s hard to imagine how the Packers have the tie-breaker now but lose it if both teams tie.)

Oh… is it a goofy 3-way tiebreaker because then the Lions are also 8.5-8.5???

I could maybe see that.

Currently all three teams are tied at 8-8 and seahawks win the 3-way tiebreaker.

If all three teams have a tie next week, Seattle still wins the 3-way, with all at 8-8-1.

Yeah, after I made the post saying it didn’t make any sense I realized that the rules on 3-way tie-breakers are different.

That also explains

Yes, that is why i said:

So I guess the succinct way to say it that encompasses all of the possibilities is:

  1. DET doesn’t lose and
  2. SEA does at least as well as DET

I assume that the GB-DET and SEA-LAR games will start at the same time next Sunday?

All games next week are at 1 pm eastern

So the Hawks play at 10 am? That sounds brutal.

Yeah it’s weird. I understand having the games at the same time but don’t get the morning slot.

Anyway that’s how it’s listed right now.

Would make more sense to play them all at 3 or 4 pm Eastern. Don’t think I have ever seen an NFL game start before noon local time.

Never mind, Yahoo has 10am for all games but ESPN has TBD for all games.

All games are still TBD for gametime.
Realistically, seattle will never play ar 10:00 am Pacific at home.
The Hawks will likely play in the later window, but not the SNF game.

Game times for all games and the SNF match-up will be announced tomorrow evening (i think)

Yeah NFL has a write up on it. 2 games Saturday, 3 slots on Sunday including SNF.

Not sure how they will schedule them so teams won’t know if they are playing meaningless games or not. But it says times will be determined after WI 17

Oh shit
I forgot that two games will be “moved” to Saturday this year.
That is just weird.

The almighty TV$ rules all!

Officially moved now. KC-LV and JAX-TEN

And based on playoff interest, DET-GB determines the final playoff spot, regardless of the SEA game (but SEA game will determine which teams are still in the hunt).

PAT-BUF determines the last AFC spot, regardless of what other teams do, too.
Could also determine #1 seed, depending on what happens on Saturday.

Moving the KC game to Saturday is a bit of a gift to NE.
Now Buffalo may have nothing to play for.

If Seattle wins, Detroit has nothing to play for.
If they do not schedule SEA-LAR & DET-GB at the same time, then the NFL is screwing SEA big time.

Hopefully Buffalo wins tonight.
If so, them CIN-BAL will almost certainly be the SNF game (AFC North Championship game)

new england does have (according to patsfans) a chance of a back door if they lose. requires 3 other games to go the right way.
