The game got pretty damn exciting after I said that.

If Seattle makes playoffs, who would want to play this team? They can run the ball, have 2 good wideouts and don’t turn the ball over much. Defense makes some big plays. Few too many false starts and holds but those should improve. This is an unexpected fun year.

Fixed. I’ll watch later in the afternoon. I’m busy in in the morning.
How anyone can devote 3.5 hours weekly to this is beyond me.

Game starts pretty early on the West Coast so some of your busyness may involve sleeping?

I also find it hard to sit through three+ hours of any sporting event so I come and go or multitask during games. Seahawks timing dovetails nicely with going to the gym on Sunday morning where the game is always on some of the tv screens.

Well, it is how I always watch NFL (and college) football. Wait at least three hours, start game, skip between plays (about 30 seconds, though some teams do not cooperate), skip commercials (3 minutes now), skip halftime. Done in less than an hour (which is why I have to wait three hours – I’ll catch up otherwise).

Yeah, this is total bullshit on the part of the NFL. I get that they’re trying to squeeze in 4 game times on a Sunday, but it’s batshit crazy to have a game start at 6:30 AM. It starts at 3:30 PM in Germany. They could have pushed that to 7 PM for the still-annoying-but-sadly-common 10 AM local start time.

That said, the bright side is that since nothing else is on that early, it’s playing in my city and I can record it and watch when I get home from church.

Should we set up a time to watch it together since I assume all of us will be able to record this one, but most of us will not be watching live?

Yes, I do see the irony of posting the word “shit” twice in one post and then discussing church in the very next post. :grimacing::woman_shrugging:

Disagree. While yeah, too bad for people in Seattle (and Tampa) to have to get up early, if it were at 10AM (PST), it would not be broadcast in America anywhere else. So Cal would probably get MIN-BUF or some crap like that.
Just fucking record it, Luddites!!

I’m off GoA, and other social media (what little I follow, well, there is a text chain with a FFL), and not even discussing sports that are going on in other places with live people while I have a recording to watch.
This Sunday, I have to be somewhere at 8AM, and I won’t be home until about 4PM. And if I find out, it will not be a big deal.

I’m good with 630 AM as the only game on as long as it is viewable and not the ESPN+. The game being on yesterday was a bonus.

I prefer to see sporting events in real time. If I recorded it I know I would check the score before watching the delayed version and that would take away the excitement of watching it. If Geno outplays Brady,I want to see that live.

Being an old guy I get up early 7 days a week anyway but appreciate that 6:30 on a Sunday morning may not be great for most folks. In any event, playing an NFL game in Germany makes no sense to me and it must be tough on the players.

I guess I have more impulse control.

NFL+ subscription has this sort of condensed replay available about 2 or 3 hours after a game finishes.

Even if I have watched the game I will usually watch the 12 minute free NFL.com highlights video the next day (but only after a Seahawks win.)

My BC Lions won their CFL Western Semi-Final match here in Vancouver yesterday. Game time was identical to Seahawks game so a whole lot of toggling going on. Overall a great day for my football teams (except for Tottenham).

Cool. That costs money. My TiVo and service are already paid for. And, I don’t really need to see it, and only it, so badly that I’d pay for it.

There are price points depending on what you want (and when).

One nice thing is that you get any game (full, condensed, or “coaches play”) to watch; and you don’t have to remember to “TiVo” it.

I know that this may not be what you want (or need); but just putting it out there.
