Yes, 800 excess calories a day is a lot. You said he drank a 2-liter a week though, not a day. Thats quite different?

Oops, that was a typo, it was a day. I could drink a bottle in a week, but a day would make my heart explode.

8x200 @ 50 seconds. Ouch!

love the effort at turnover. 200’s are really good I think.

i had a delusional thought this weekend about what it would take for me to run one sub-30. real consistent effort; running in spikes again; and good health. not sure it will happen.

I did my ā€œ3 laps around the neighborhoodā€ workout (Running thread - #941 by Bro) but didn’t have my watch on for the first lap. Pace:

Right about last time. I’ll take it as I feel like I was in better shape last summer than this one (after injury and recovery).

Saw my neighbor (who was my son’s baseball coach for a couple of years) running as I was warming up, we chatted just before I did lap 1. We’re going to start running together some Tuesday mornings, which will be good for both of us.

Probably not a big deal for the average runner. Potentially serious for some who were hoping to use their time for qualifying for other difficult-to-get-into marathons like Boston. Should it have been in the innumeracy thread? Reason is that they needed to move their normal course turnaround closer to compensate for a necessary construction detour. The turnaround change removed about (these numbers rounded) 350 meters each way, moving it 350 closer, when they should have moved it 700 closer for the correct compensation.

Now I need my 26.6 sticker

Yesterday was the first day I saw my heart rate go down to the 40s with an overall RHR of 52.

Earlier this year my RHR was 64, so it’s steadily been going down after I started running again. I expect it to be in the high 40s by the end of the year.

I’m still running at a very slow, conservative pace as I recover. I started at 17 minute miles in May and now I’m at 13. My dietician thinks I’ll be around 11-12 by year’s end.

I usually keep the HR around 135 BPM.

That guy is like an advert for diabetes.

I’m trying to get back on the running wagon. There’s a local parkrun group nearish to me. I’d half-planned to go this morning, but didn’t set my alarm, so I missed it. Hopefully next Saturday, as that was my plan to get in my August 5k (assuming my knees don’t revolt again).
