It would be more appropriate for the P&C actuaries to say something, if anything, about his professional standards/prowess.

I think, in principle, it is a good thing for someone to act in a consumer advocate role outside of regulatory agencies, to keep “us” on our toes and encourage regulators to tackle issues when needed.
I regret the tactics that some consumer advocates feel a need to take to gain attention and maintain perceived relevance.

He called actuaries the dregs of the American educational system at one point IIRC. The industry used to pointedly refer to him as a “former” actuary in any articles or press releases.
