RIP thread

Not really the place for a discussion about general attitudes toward the Catholic church, or religion in general.

true, need a separate Poop on the Pope thread

I wouldn’t have much to say about this pope. He exceeded all expectations. Sorry to see him go.

RIP Ms Buzzi. But honestly, she was on the list of “I didn’t even know she was still alive until yesterday”

Sudden RIP to my school’s accounts payable clerk. :broken_heart: I didn’t interact with back office people that much, but, she was nice. She taught me how to use the new electronic system to request reimbursement and mileage and stuff.

Just watched the first Laugh-In, on Prime.

“Um, I thought were going to be, uh, laughs, on this Laugh-In show
”

I’ll watch some more, see where it goes.
More subversion, less 1920’s-style silent movie humor, please.

IIRC, Richard Nixon appeared in one episode of Laugh-In.

True story.
This piece of trivia was the final question the first time a contestant won $1M on “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” in the US

The contestant knew the answer, but used his lifeline to call his dad to tell him he was going to win a million dollars.

Go ahead on.

He was really good in a much-lauded British miniseries called edge of darkness. Surprised it didn’t lead to bigger roles (apart from a small part in Jane’s Bond).

Joe Don Baker played a great bad guy in Charley Varrick

I also think of him from Fletch

RIP

Not as well-known as some other South American leaders but he may have done more positive things for his country than any other SA leader.
