RIP thread

I’d take that bet. Why? There’s an unfortunate new player edition.

RIP to the Hammer, Hank Aaron. He’s one of my all-time favorite players and people.

He’ll make my team

RIP Hank Aaron. :frowning:

Does he become the most well known COVID death?

Maybe. It’s arguable whether he’s more famous than Tom Seaver.

Seaver was ill so.long, I forgot it was ultimately COVID

If it helps - I had to look up who Tom Seaver is.

Of course, I don’t follow sports at all.

did you need to look up Hank Aaron?

no idea actual cause of death

No - I’ve heard his name mentioned before and it’s something about baseball and home runs.

i know larry king. don’t know tom seaver.

And you call yourself a Met’s fan?

ummmm, no. i’m not a baseball fan or any sort of sports fan.

I didn’t realize Hank Aaron had been alive up until a few days ago. I thought he had died a long time ago like Babe Ruth. I don’t follow baseball though.

I remember the video message he recorded that played after Bonds broke his home run record, but that was (consults Google) in 2007. I would’ve guessed he was still alive though, simply because I assume I’d have heard if he’d died.

you people make me sad

Larry King’s family says he didn’t die from COVID-19 as reported. Says he had COVID-19, got better, but it took a toll on his already not all that well body, and he died from something else.
