RIP thread

I’m 47 years old, and I’m pretty sure I’ve never had one.

No Schlitz?

We had Natty Light and Busch a lot in the early drinking days. Bud if we were feeling rich.

My sister’s first job was working in in Schlitz Brewery. They offered her a managerial promotion, she said no thanks and went to college.

That was my Dad’s beer. Never tried one.

Might have lasted longer if they had had a catchier phrase like Schaefer’s.

“Schaefer is the one beer to have when you’re having more than one."

My dad was a PBR guy. There was always a bunch in the garage fridge. We drank natty light in college because it was cheap. Not sure if I ever had Schlitz tho. I do remember getting a case of Blatz one time because of the silly name and bodacious fraulein on the package. Worst ‘beer’ ever - drank like 10 of those things while playing beer chess and never even felt tipsy, just had an instant hangover.

We were RWB guys in college, again due to the price. As I recall, at the time it went for about $4 for a case of 24 cans.

Cheaper than bottled water lol

I happen to work in “Schlitz Park” I wonder if they’ll be shutting us down?

That was out college beer. Cheapest beer at the gas station!

I loved the Schaefer jingo which said a lot.

The beer of choice when I was in university was a Quebec beer called Brador: it was much higher octane than the American beers.

obligatory:

Schaefer and Old Milwaukee were our main college beers based on which was cheaper that day. A good price back then was $2.50 for a 12 pack (late 80s).

Funny back then, but this is now available. His billion-dollar idea, got nothing for it.
