I think now is a special time to think carefully about finding a new monitor to test out the capabilities of my graphics card. I have always wanted a 4k monitor but all the ones in my budget seem to have a refresh rate of 60 Hz but I hear frame rates are all the rage these days and it’s the lower resolution monitors that have higher frame rates. Is it worth it to go lower in resolution for 144 Hz instead?
Every time I see commercials for those new fancy HD TVs I think, “well that doesn’t look any better than my current TV. Why bother?”

The monitors keep getting bigger, but the pixels stay the same size.
