I hope the state will wait until he forks over the cash before starting the recount.
What it will be is more like he’ll send the workers to do the recount rather than pay the state to do it.

I can’t decide who is dumber. Trump for thinking the problems with cattle production in North America can be solved in 90 days, or Massie for thinking this would hurt cattle farmer substantial or have a long term impact.
Well, if they are dumping foreign beef at a 25% discount as he suggests, I can’t see where that would help US cattle farmers.
But you are right a 90 rule is not likely to have any long term impact one way of the other.

Maybe not considered a “darndest thing” by Americans but federal politicians talking about their religious beliefs is a darndest thing for Canadians.

I certainly know Christians who would say that eternal life is more important than Harvard. If you believe, then that’s a rational choice.
However, the thoughtful would say that no parent “gets [any child] into heaven”. If you’ve done what you can for the first 18 years, and your extremely bright and accomplished child isn’t ready for the slings and arrows of Harvard, they probably won’t make it anywhere in the modern secular US.
If you get a presidential pardon for any bad stuff you did, does that mean you’re still eligible for heaven?

I think the difference is if you help rural white people or rich people, it’s not socialism and it’s just good government policy. But if you help black people, immigrants or Muslims, then Republican Jesus will strike you down with the fire and brimstone of Communism takeover.

I’ve been seeing videos by a former evangelical Christian talking about the awfulness of purity culture. An amazing number of parents would apparently prefer their daughters get murdered rather lose their purity. Also, all sorts of videos about youth pastors gone wild. US Christianity is weird.

Back in the middle ages…we used to call those get out of jail for free cards…indulgences. You had to pay a sum of money for such a thing as well…to the Church.
