Meh, they have large staffs and if it’s too sudden they should vote against. All the urgency is manufactured, they’re poorly serving their constituents.

I was reading r\conservative and it is a similar vibe. Some how, unsurprisingly, on that subreddit it is the “leftist” that are all a flutter and not their own subreddit.

Uh… no. He still threw two Nazi salutes, and even if I played politics like a team sport where I root for my team no matter how horrible they are, Musk isn’t “on my team.”

One of the problems with the extreme polarization of American politics is that too many people seem to view the world in a binary “Them” vs “Us” model, with “Them” and “Us” having opposite views on every important subject.
That model doesn’t permit the reality that Elmo is neither with “Us” nor with “Them”. (Or that “we” and “they” could possibly agree on some subject, or that not all of “us”/“them” agree on every subject, or…)

She would have gone nuts in Canada. Our Prime Minister spoke at an Eid celebration today, the leader of our third largest political party at the last Federal election was a Sikh and we have had several Sikh cabinet ministers.
I didn’t realize Blanchet is a Sikh.

The NDP and BQ got almost exactly the same number of votes in the 2025 election. I view the NDP as the third party as they field candidates across the country rather than just in Quebec.
Even more openminded than the US in that Canada has a separatist party running in federal elections.
In the interest of transparency, this Fox chyron is real but is a few years old.
