I’ve been thinking about that for a while. But if they’re ignoring the court anyway, I suppose they could circumvent any arrests by just not bothering to show up in court. It effectively wouldn’t make any difference.
In my world, when you mess up someone else’s life, you are accountable for repairing the mess to the extent possible.
Lawsuits are all about getting “equitable remedies” for damages.
Of course the federal government has an obligation to do everything it can to get get this guy back and go through proper processes for removing him. They certainly should not be paying El Salvador to keep him in prison.
IANAL, but given the SCOTUS says the detainees deserve judicial review, that they may be innocent, the law may be unconstitutional or misapplied.
…it bothers me that they are allowing the administration to send more to the Gulag, while at the same time claiming they can’t be retrieved.
US Marshalls are the closest we have. However, they’re under the Executive Branch.
In Florida, it seems that the Republicans are pushing back on some potential DeSantis corruption, and he is not pleased.

In case you were wondering what happened to the flying cars, Michael Kratsios, the Science Advisor to the President and former CTO of the US has the answer:
At a time defined by the desire to build in America again, we have to throw off the burden of bad regulations that weigh down our innovators, and use federal resources to test, to deploy, and to mature emerging technologies. We know, for example, the greatest obstacle to limitless energy in this country has been a regulatory regime opposed to innovation and development. This, too, has been the chief barrier to pushing the envelope again in transportation, whether supersonic aircraft or high-speed rail and flying cars. The time has come to review the rules on the books and to ask whom they really protect and what they really cost.
But fortunately, the timeline can be fixed:
Stagnation was a choice. We have weighed down our builders and innovators. The well-intentioned regulatory regime of the 1970s became an ever-tightening ratchet, first hampering America’s ability to become a net-energy exporter and then making it harder and harder to build. We seem to have lost focus and vision, to have lowered our sights and let systems and structures and bureaucracies muddle us along.
But we are capable of so much more.
Our technologies permit us to manipulate time and space. They leave distance annihilated, cause things to grow, and improve productivity.
In case you were wondering, Kratsios does not have a graduate degree in any sciences, studied politics and Hellenic studies as an undergraduate, and worked for Barclays capital straight out of college. So he is super qualified for his post.
Seems like very narrow view of what “spectrum” means and thinks everyone with autism is rain man.
Is RFK Jr saying I don’t need to pay taxes anymore?! Can I get that presented in such a way that I can get the IRS to refund all of my taxes?
I suppose he’d be disappointed to know that I do have a couple of poems published, and my wife and I do occasionally have date nights.
She’s not into toilet play, so sadly I must go potty on my own during those date nights.
Somebody should ask RFK what autism is, since he seems to be unaware of the majority of the autism spectrum.
I’ll admit that I wouldn’t necessarily hate the feds bringing back the distinction between “autism” and “Asperger’s”.
The alleged Nazi overtones of “Asperger’s” shouldn’t be that objectionable to the current administration.
Amusingly, this seems to have been done not too far before this:
Cheeky poocorn gif goes here. :poocorn:
Has anybody told RFK that Musk is on the autism spectrum?
That info must’ve fallen in the worm hole.
…and then two weeks later, we’ll have Dear Leader’s plan to replace/improve upon Obamacare.
In this era of destruction and DGAF, I suspect that he’ll ignore the replace/improve and just get rid of it. It’s way easier that way.
Making schools pay more for energy to own the libs
I find in fascinating/depressing how hard the fossil fuel industry is fighting the switch to renewables.
