The H1-B people I knew all made sure to have babies. Even unmarried ones. I assume being the parent of a minor U.S. citizen improves one’s odds of staying here should anything happen on the job front?

Over the past week, it has come out that Meta:
- Appointed wife beater Dana White to the board of directors, then deleted posts criticizing the choice of a wife beater from internal message boards. Facebook Deletes Internal Employee Criticism of New Board Member Dana White
- Changed moderation policies to be more “free speech,” which is code for misogynistic and anti-queer language is now ok. E.g., you still aren’t allowed to call someone mentally ill, but now there is an explicit exemption for calling someone mentally ill because they are queer. - Instagram labeled a huge variety of queer hashtags as being “sexually suggestive content” and thus blocked them from being shown to teenagers. When this finally came out, months after being implemented, they said it was a mistake and removed the shadow ban. Instagram blocked teens from searching LGBTQ-related content for months
- More petty than awful, Instagram has renamed some of their themes from Pride, Transgender and Nonbinary to Rainbow, Cotton Candy, and Golden Sunset.

I mean - duh.
The GOP is centered on identity politics and identity politics are best spread with disinformation. Trump’s repeatedly threatened Zuckerberg with imprisonment and the Supreme Court seems to say he could unilaterally do that. So of course Zuckerberg tithes money to Trump, flies to Mar a Lago to kiss the ring, and changes policies to allow more disinformation.

Scott Galloway (I always find him an interesting guest) was on Morning Joe today. He is brutally honest, called out these billionaires “men” as a bit of a joke. They have basically infinite money but bend the knee to Trump.
Maybe we’ll call them the East American Ocean and the West American Ocean soon
