no audience, mike killed when time, he shouldn’t have to
Right, I just meant a really solid quotable line. Even my friend who supports Trump admitted that was a zinger.
Biden voters maybe? I think he has done a decent job as President, but I think the decision that he was not too old was made about this time last year and I am not sure the same decision would be made today.
Maybe he can defy the age concerns during the debate. What happens if its a disaster?
I’m a solid Biden supporter. He has done a fantastic job, far exceeding my expectations. He wasn’t my first choice in the primaries, but he has put together a solid team that has accomplished a lot, despite all the sabotage from Republicans. Bummer that he is old, but I will gladly vote for him again.
Glad I’m not the only one.
I agree Biden has done a good job for Americans and I would be a supporter if I was an American.
However my point was that most people who will vote for Biden are not avid supporters.
He has done a fantastic job…other than give us a succession plan. Sure, Harris is the constitutional answer, but has Biden prepared the country for that? It seems like a gap for the oldest president, someone who 4 years ago seemed like he was going to hand this off to the next generation of leaders in 2024.
I consider myself generally a fan of Biden, but I don’t worship the man. There are literally hundreds of things Trump has done outside of the political sphere that would have made me drop support for Biden, on moral/ethical grounds. There isn’t a politician for whom I’ve even neared half the level of reverence that Trump commands.
Somewhat agree, but I don’t think it’s really his responsibility to plan his succession. If Trump had gone away quietly or been held to account sooner I don’t think Biden would be running again. Biden probably feels like it’s his duty to beat Trump again to save the country.
It seemed clear that those ifs were not going to happen for a while, and Biden’s age justifies the need for a plan B if saving the country is that important.
Sell the country on Harris more than any presidential candidate has ever done with their VP pick in the past. Maybe that is still to come in the next few months, but until then, his age will persist as the single biggest issue to not vote for Biden.
This. Biden supporters are much more “I’ll support Biden, but I really wish there was someone 20 years younger running instead - but I’ll be damned if I go vote for Trump.” Trump supporters are full-on cultists.
Or:
- Biden supporters aren’t out spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars on Biden-themed merchandise that they proudly display at every chance, adorning their homes and property and vehicles to let everyone know that they’re unabashed Biden fans who’ll support everything and anything he says, and DNGAF who cares.
- Trump supporters are doing all of that.
Basically, we have the guy who enjoys Marvel films and sees them all when they come out. It’s a decent IP, they’re not all great but overall it’s entertaining.
And we have the guy who really likes DC and owns a full Batman outfit and covers his truck in Batman and flies Batman flags and makes his profile picture Batman and lives on message boards that are pro-DC and anti-Marvel and talks with all his DC friends about how much Marvel sucks.
The Marvel guy recognizes that some people like Marvel and some like DC. The DC guy thinks that nobody likes Marvel, because how could they if they don’t even have a Marvel wrap on their truck?
While I understand and appreciate your logic, I’m not sure this will fly as Harris isn’t all that popular. Most of the GOP believes she’s a leftist, and the liberal fringe thinks she is a cop. I think they’ll keep running against Trump as a result rather than trying to boost Harris’ profile.
More proof of voter fraud!
That is part of the Biden problem. If he is 82 and there is a good chance he might not live 4 more years, confidence in the VP is critical. Harris is not popular, can that be fixed? Have they tried?
Trump will pick his running mate this week and that person will immediately be the most popular VP candidate in the race.
Need someone that can attract the uncommitted swing-state voters.
Who is the current favourite for this interesting job?
It’s too bad Trump hadn’t announced the dog-killer before her book came out. I think Harris might have beat her.
I think you are giving Trump a lot of credit. Mike Pence wasn’t exactly a popular pick out side the Evangelicals.
