Republicans Say the Darndest Things!

Yea, this is the wrong thread. Gervin-Hawkins is D from San Antonio.

Ok, maybe it better belongs in Political truths not humor thread

I am absolutely no fan of Republicans or Texas government (please excuse the redundancy) but here is an article about an actual Texas law which does not explicitly refer to school shootings, and applies to offer stopping bleeding to 7th grade and higher (as opposed to the proposed law in the tweet, which would make training mandatory to 3rd grade and higher). (Actually the text of the proposed law saws offer, the tweet says All are to be trained.) The actual law saws the kit must include one tourniquet (no further description), not the proposed law’s “tourniquets approved for use in battlefield trauma care by the armed forces of the United States”

What if the kids see some sex organs spilling out from other kids’ (or teachers’) guts?

Guess they can opt out of stopping the bleeding there with a note from their parents.

The photo was posted one day after a suspect armed with an AR-15 style rifle reportedly shot a group of people in Texas

To be fair, if you waited a full week every time someone murdered 20 kids with an AR-15, you’d never get to post any funny memes.

To be fair, that is shirt is not a funny meme.

You aren’t keeping up on your right wing talking points. One of the latest talking points is that most gun deaths are from other types of guns, not just AR-15s, so there are more hammer deaths than AR-15 deaths.

163 mass shootings in the US as of April 17, just over 1.5 per day. (Defined as 4 people injured not counting the shooter.)

Probably will die down a touch in the summer while school’s out, but we’re currently outpacing 2022 for most mass shootings. Couldn’t quickly find how/if the lethality is trending over time.

There are just more people in America now, so obviously there are going to be more mass shootings…

Oh, I’m sadly well aware of every talking point ever.

Unfortunate choice of words … just sayin’

Diversity in firing?

Florida Republican Rep. Jeff Holcomb comes out and says what Republicans really think about LGBTQ people. “Our terrorist enemies hate homosexuals more than WE DO.”

Paraphrasing “Animal House”: “They can’t hate our homosexuals! Only WE can hate our homosexuals!”

Or, get the epiphany that “the enemy of our enemy is our friend.” Doesn’t count for all that much, though.

So the terrorists are their friends?

Pretty sure they already self-identify as domestic terrorists, so makes sense.

That’s one way to look at it.
