Oh. Now that I think about it, my path wasn’t just the Rue. The one name I’d tried when I still thought it was a name was Charles de Gaulle. That gave me the “de”. And I tried Paris right when I was thinking of the Rue, so had the “de Paris”. Notre was my second guess after eiffel.
And, hey, shouldn’t the redactle people have shown de and maybe notre?

so annoyed
I solved today’s Redactle (#109) in 89 guesses with an accuracy of 43.82%.
I got a bunch of movies, and thought he was an actor or director and got all these movies this guy worked on… and didn’t think that he played on the frickin soundtrack (and yes, I knew the dude was Chinese background from NYC, etc and kept trying a bunch of Chinese names like Wu and Li)

I feel your pain, I went through that as well for a bit. Was totally lost for a long time here. Played a lot of filler words. So many red herrings for me today.

I got film right away, which was a red herring. And I got Once Upon A Time In America right after that. And I got that he won awards, but none seemed to be acting. Which is when I switched to grammy, which led to the answer.

messed up thinking he was American

I got classical music pretty early on. in the end, [small blank] - [small blank] [small blank] gave it away.
This one worked out well that way, but just yesterday I was thinking that the hyphen was very misleading (at least to me). I definitely wasn’t expecting a hyphen between Notre and Dame and I probably stayed on names a little longer than I should have because of the hyphen.
I got all turned around on that one. Because I got a lot of hits for France. I got a lot of hits for French Revolution. I got some hits for Napoleon. I knew the first line gave an English translation of the tile. I was like “Well shit, I don’t speak French, how can I possibly guess this?”
guess who played redactle first today

This one gave me a hard time. I got literally nothing but filler until plant at 60. Then nothing until Africa at 71. Then only some directions until food at 86. Then only minor hits until sweet at 92, but at least that led directly to the solution.
I’m getting the impression that you guess this one pretty easy or it takes forever. I’m in the 2nd category.

I got root, but then I got hits on a few other parts of plants, so I was 100% committed that it was about plant anatomy or thereabouts. Xylem and lateral roots and cells or something. I banged out every word I know about plants and nada. Finally, ‘food’ got me pointed in the right direction.
I got roots, but I don’t have the setting turned on that automatically checks singular and plural versions, so it took another 8 guesses to get to root singular. I also guessed vegetables instead of vegetable
I also guessed vegetables and forgot to do the singular for a while
Me too, but by then it got it on the next guess. It gave me one of those “oh nuts. i was sure that was it. now i don’t think i’ll get it” moments.
