Random Thoughts

Too long ago to remember

It was very small plane. 11 or 13 passengers including the cockpit seat, I suspect. Something like that anyway, No cockpit door.

Nah, she was just a hottie the pilot wanted to sit next to

Smallest flight I took was I think 4 passengers plus the pilot. One of the passengers sat up front with the pilot. I was in the 2nd row.

Alaska, 4 seats plus pilot and 8 seats plus pilot
Lake Placid NY 4 seats plus pilot
commuting to a small airport to visit my wife in college 18 seats

Better finish carving the pumpkins. :grimacing:

When I see an adult female who … let’s just say had a “troubled past” … who

  • Got married, had 3 kids, then bailed out of the marriage and overtly rejected her kids,
  • Did the “live out of a cardboard box” thing for a few years and had 2 more kids with random guys,
  • Bailed out on both of those kids [so that’s now 5 kids she’s had that she’s intentionally rejected]

Showing up on FB holding 2 more kids as she’s wearing a shirt that says “Breeder” across the front, … I twitch more than once or twice.

Seems that some airlines are rolling out starlink for WiFi use and you can get about 140Mbps now.

You can actually watch a movie now. Awesome.

Just surfing the local inexpensive butcher for a weekly special on pork so I can make sausages.

Then I remembered I’m going home in a month to butcher two pigs into sausages.

Tan to annoyed thoughts. I was home a few weeks ago and we did up a turkey for thanksgiving. The knife they handed me to butcher the bird was so dull it wouldn’t even cut the skin. Man, I hate dull knives.

I sharpened all my hunting/butcher knives then bought a couple more plus a knife roll so when I go home I have a wide selection of knives that will actually cut.

I have a rollover IRA that I don’t want to roll into my current employer’s 401k. I’ve noticed that the balance in that IRA is often the exact same amount as another recent non-concurrent day, to the penny. It doesn’t happen all the time, but in the last 30 days, it’s happened 4-5 times. Now, this IRA doesn’t have $1 in it, so it’s unlikely to be just a rounding to the penny issue. Why does this happen? Is it because it’s all invested in a target date fund and they’re just rounding the returns? But even then, it seems unlikely that it would happen this frequently even if that’s what was going on. Plus, I have expenses coming out of it pretty regularly, too, so it just seems like laziness on Fidelity’s part.

It’s probably happening in my current employer’s 401k too, but since I contribute to that frequently it’s not noticeable to me over time.
