My FAC was there in April (a long time ago). Went back with the whole family years later in June. Botanical gardens were great. Hope to go again sometime.
We did QC in 2015 for our honeymoon and loved it (despite the cold and snow) but Montreal is still on my list. Maybe a 10 year anniversary trip.
Great food destination, and I am not talking about poutine but thatâs good too. Super pedestrian and cycle friendly destination. Lovely architecture. Friendly locals happy to talk about the city. A taste of Europe, but without the travel time and associated hassles. Nice outdoor places.
Iâm sure it didnât hurt that we had chamber of commerce favorable weather for time spent there.
Going tomorrow for a quick in/out work trip. Will experience very little of it.
We drove there, but parked the car the entire time and used public transit. That was with 5 kids aged from 6-16.
Despite having minimal French, not a single person we interacted with was snooty about it. Perhaps they found our attempts at the polite words amusing. I figure i had a huge âamerican touristâ sign on my back. We were at Mass on Sunday at a fairly large church in the city, maybe 300-400 congregants, moderately full. I was sitting on the main aisle with my family on my left. As the procession entered, the priest stopped (music still going) and said to me in English âyou know, the entire Mass will be in French?â I was shocked and amused because to my knowledge he hadnât seen us before Mass (were we ever on time anywhere?). I replied in English something like âthatâs okâ.
Pearson MyLab is BRUTAL with grading. âOh, you mixed up a + and - but otherwise did the problem correctly with the one incorrect number? 0 out of 6!â (I donât do the double jeopardy thing. If they messed up one number, but did the rest of the problem correctly with that one incorrect number, I only take off once and minorly for the one messed up number. Itâs why I like that we have them upload their shown work after the midterm so I can go through and give that partial credit.)
If youâre a homeowner and donât have a tool bag, you are seriously missing out. It is sooo much nicer when doing stuff around the house. Every tool you need 99% of the time all in one spot. No more making repeated trips to the shed.
Random thought:
Audrey IIâs nickname in Little Shop Of Horrors is âTwoeyâ.
But R2-D2âs nickname in Star Wars is âTooieâ.

We have a certain number of required hours every year to spend on upskilling, but no one monitors WHAT you spend it on, as long as you select from a list they provide. I try to learn actually useful things, but some years thereâs nothing applicable or interesting and I definitely did a Microsoft Office course one year. I donât even think it covered a vlookup.
You know whatâs tasty? Saltine crackers and cream cheese. My spouse was feeding the grandkid this for some reason. I tried one. Then I had two more.
We had an extensive continuing education system with a minimum of 40 hours a year. Affected bonus and possibly continued employment.
I just got a reminder from the CIA that I have to do the professionalism module before February 28, 2025.
We did this with margarine back in the day. Cream cheese would be even better.
Once a year or so Iâll grab a few topped with butter of PB. Cream cheese >> either of them.
If cream cheese is going on a cracker, it needs to be Ritz or Town House.
Ruffles potato chips with pineapple cream cheese!!
Went to see a Supertramp cover band last night.
What a bunch of well behaved old octagenarians.
itâs hard for me to wrap my head around âBreakfast in Americaâ and âBloody Well Rightâ being the same band
Add some smoked salmon and dill! I eat that as a meal all the time.
