Random Sports Thoughts

Fox Sports is reportedly nearing a deal to put Dave Portnoy / Barstool content on FS1.

Isn’t it awful enough that the networks think we should all have to listen to a moronic ex-NFL punter bloviate on every broadcast for every sport? Now we have to listen to this douchenozzle too if we watch sports on Fox.

Moot button.
Doesn’t seem to be during any actual sports games. Pre-game, replacing whatever Breakfast Ball , The Facility , and Speak were.
Idiocracy in action. Fox is the expert in how to exploit this.

This reinforces my belief that anyone who’s interested should have their own reality show that just follows them around wherever they go, whatever they’re doing. Going to dinner, walking in the park, sitting at home watching TV and picking their ass, … whatever.

Why do so few NFL players choose to wear the guardian cap on game day?

Nothing to protect, really.

More seriously, ego, machoism. And the fans prefer their players to be something they themselves cannot be.

Disclaimer: not a doctor, but play one on the internet.

Generally agree, but its stupid that an option to give additional protection for your brain is sissy when you know what has happened to those to have gone before you

If a ball gets tipped and caught by an offensive player who was not the intended target, it should go down as an intraception

if guy in first was 10 min ahead, would he have been pushed enough to get the record?

Yes, and he would have finished sub 1:50:00 to boot!

So, I’m at a Hartford Yard Goats game, and our seats are out in center field, right where we can look into the bullpen.

I’m being vastly intrigued watching the pitching coach’s monitor.

Saw these guys warming up in Newport.

Didn’t see you at the game. We were in section 225.

I thought we had a thread specifically for track and field. Maybe not.

I wonder if this kicks off a new chase to see how far someone can take the mile record down. And/or, it kicks off a chase to see who can break Hichan El Guerrouj’s 3:26 even in the 1500, which has now stood for 28 years.

I thought this huge accomplishment was worth posting but I didn’t know where to put it. Thanks.
