I havenât seen an RCUT intersection in person, but it seems like a good alternative to traditional traffic intersections in some cases. Ever driven through an RCUT intersection?
I have one near me. I have witnessed someone blow through the red light that is in the middle of the non-intersection, not like yellow going on red, but completely oblivious that there was an intersection.
Forcing a semi or a large delivery truck to do a u-turn seems stupid to me.
And, based on driving Iâve seen, Iâd imagine thereâd be a few driver who end up wrong-way on the opposing left turn lane, since thatâs about where theyâd expect to be to make a left turn.
Theyâre still building rotaries in the po relatively near me.
Last month, a lady driving an SUV misunderstood the new roundabout and took my front bumper off. She said she thought that she had the right of way. 
(Witness said itâs her fault, fix didnât cost me.)
Michigan (âleftsâ), Utah, and Texas (from my limited driving experience) all have different left-turn arrangements without using a roundabout.
Thereâs also the New Jersey jug handle left turn.

I annoyed more than one teacher by observing that grammar ârulesâ are not prescriptive, but rather are descriptive and subject to evolution.

Is Mole Day still a thing? I know itâs not used in the actuarial world, but it seems like Iâd still stumble across some reference to it, and yesterday I didnât see anything.

Oh wow, I read that article. Iâve seen that! In the US. We were, oh where the heck were we, just after covid. Albany? Somewhere in upstate new york for a weekend. And they had that weird turn around stuff like in the article. I had to go through it a few times to get to Trader Joes because they have the best snack food on the continent.
I mean, it worked OK but I"m old and change is bad. Yeah, it worked well, it just seemed a bit odd to me. But if itâs in contrast to a roundabout, then I think yeah, theyâre great - a lot less prone to errors and a lot less real estate.

I am on 80% at this point. Huge racket that has been allowed to inflate to incredible proportions.
DuoLingo doesnât use the word âwhom.â It makes it awkward to figure out how to translate their English sentences into German. (Might be a problem for French and Spanish, but Iâm not as fluent in those.)
