Afaict , this gives you the ability to install the software one time and that’s it. If your computer dies, the license dies with it.

I’ve got five computers in my house

In alphabetic languages, it’s not uncommon to hear of kids who taught themselves to read at 3 years old, based on pattern recognition of the letters and the corresponding sounds.

Does the same thing happen in logographic languages?

Is 80 degrees too warm for a hotel room thermostat setting?

Clearly not, because I just got a hot shower and pulled the comforter off the other bed in an effort to stay warm. And I set the thermostat to 80 this morning, so it ought to be much warmer than this by now.

No thermostat setting is too warm if the thermostat reading is inaccurate or the furnace is not able to get the room up to temperature for whatever reading.

But an actual 80 degree room is pretty warm.

My son is getting therapy for his Tourette’s. This is what the EOBs all say so far:

I tried googling what this meant and Google tells me that I am responsible for anything not contractually allowed. However, the EOB specifically states that I’m NOT responsible for it. I am confused. Does anyone have more actual knowledge of this kind of thing?

Tourette’s therapy typically lasts 8-10 sessions. I could pay $4k-$5k if needed, but would really prefer not to, especially if it’s not being applied to my deductible. I’m sure the hospital would give me a steep discount too, but still. $0 would be much better. And this is a children’s hospital that does not turn people away (and the only ones in the area who provide this kind of therapy, took us a year to get seen), so I’m not worried about them telling us they won’t be continuing.

I don’t have an answer, but I don’t think I’ve ever had my benefits explained well by an EOB.

Find out what time the insurance company’s customer service opens and call them at that time and ask.

well, brigth side is as that as of that EOB, you owe nothing. but it will be rebilled and recoded and sorted to change. I doubt provider accepts receiving $0.

If the EOB says you’re not obligated for anything not contractually allowed, that should be sufficient evidence for not paying anything more than what the EOB says is your responsibility.

So if the provider tries to bill you for more than what the EOB says is your responsibility, just go in and show them your EOB and refuse to pay the extra.

I’ve had some providers do just that, and when I showed them the EOB, the ā€œbillā€ went away.

I wonder:

  1. How many labor hours in the United States are lost to password problems? (Employees with the issues + IT time to assist + other employees who cannot reach the employees who are dealing with the password problems and/or doing someone else’s work while they deal with password problems) And at what cost?

  2. How much of that time would be saved by relaxing restrictions? (password can be changed less frequently, be shorter, be permitted to use more characters, be required to used fewer characters, can reuse passwords more frequently)

  3. How many more security breaches would occur by relaxing restrictions as outlined above?

  4. How much time and money would it cost to just be slightly less secure and deal with the ramifications?

I could potentially see 3 and 4 being negative if it meant people didn’t write their passwords down.

I wonder how much gasoline is lost to those few droplets and dribblets that come between removing the pump and putting it back on the rack.

How much money is really saved by having auto with the ā€œauto-off engineā€ functionality actually turned on?

I usually turn that option off. I hate that I have to do that every time I get in the car.

Mine resets itself periodically which is obnoxious, but I think I’m a bit over a gallon a month. So… not a lot.
