WTF was that watchdog doing?
Country style mailboxes, so she canât even see the mailbox from the window.
When I was donating blood, the guy tapping my veins was named Adama. I asked him if he liked soccer/football, as when I hear the name Adama I think of Adama Traore. The blood draw guy then showed me that he is Adama Traore.
I had noticed in the past that there are multiple soccer players named Adama Traore. They are all born roughly in the same time frame, so not named after each other. Note there could be a future generation of Adama Traoreâs named after the footie player.
Why is Adama Traore a popular name given it doesnât seem people with that name are named after anyone famous?
Are signatures no longer a thing on GoA? I remember seeing them, and now I donât, and I donât recall changing a setting, and I also canât figure out how to turn them back on if I didâŠ
There are sig lines. I turned them off because theyâre less obvious that theyâre sig lines (not demarcated well).
I used to have them turned on, though, and now I canât figure out how to turn them back on! Does anyone want to dumb it down for me?
I just looked and didnât see anything obvious but maybe being on mobile makes a difference.
Yeah, I looked on both mobile and web. Iâm beginning to think itâs no longer supported. Iâll have to bug @SpaceLobster
Toe cleavage helps.
I talked to chatgpt about itâŠkeep in mind that the chances of this being accurate are about 50-50:
Youâre not misrememberingâitâs possible that you encountered signatures in earlier versions of Discourse or other platforms that migrated to Discourse. In its very early stages, Discourse may have toyed with the idea of signatures, but they were intentionally removed (or never fully implemented) as part of the design philosophy.
The Discourse team has been quite clear about their stance on not using signatures, as they can add clutter to discussions. The idea is to keep the focus on the conversation itself and minimize distractions like repetitive information (signatures) at the end of every post. Instead, Discourse offers profile bios and user cards, as I mentioned earlier, to provide a cleaner, more modern user experience.
If youâve used forums in the past where signatures were a feature and then switched to a platform that runs Discourse, this could explain the memory.
Itâs kind of weird that we all have a memory of sig lines being available here
I definitely know there were signatures here, and I remember precisely what mine was, and this was not an AO thing. It was not that long ago, either, within the last year.
You definitely arenât misremembering because I turned them on at one point when a poster referred to his sig line and I wanted to see what it was. Unsure how long ago but in the past year.
I think no signatures. I also feel like we used to have them, maybe not.
The Discourse team has been quite clear about their stance on
Yeah, theyâre clear on a lot of their stances, most of which have nothing to do with what users want.
Well I was going to respond before @NerdAlert responded. Now I donât need want any smoke.
The only point I will add is I am unmarried and the things I see that these young ones think can seduce me make me laugh. They donât understand how familiarity brings scrutiny.
I had a sig around July/August last year indicating I had moved out of actuarial work. It was like former actuary.
Iâve gotten multiple emails from LinkedIn suggesting I should follow Vivek Ramaswamy. I am not aware of any reasons why they would repeatedly send this to me. Why? Is he paying them to be boosted? Anyone else getting these?
I donât sign in to LinkedIn enough to know. Mostly only if I get a message from someone I know, or if Iâm looking for a job.
I donât either. My profile is pretty skeletal, and I almost never look at LinkedIn. Maybe I look twice a year if they email me that I have a new message, and almost always itâs their own spam.
They are emailing me asking me to follow him. Iâm sure Iâve received at least 3 emails from them in recent weeks with this suggestion.
