A writer from the New Yorker spoke to Lin Wood on the phone. Wood has been one of Trump’s recount fight champions. Here’s his recap. Not surprisingly, like his idol it sounds like Wood has a few bats in his belfry:
Before the now well publicized call Trump made to the GA Secretary of State to go find him some votes, he apparently called the chief investigator looking into the now debunked allegations of failure to signature match in Cobb County GA to pressure him to find some fraud there.
Sounds possible that obstruction charges could come out of this activity
I wonder if someone said “I wish I would have taped that” after the call. And, that might be one reason someone taped the later call.
With his track record I’m surprised anybody talks to him without recording every word.

I expect to see a lot of “MeToo” regarding Trump’s bullying.
How could she possibly have predicted Trump would turn on her? Weird he’s always been so loyal to everyone around him. She’s probably the first one this has ever happened too.

- The New York State Bar Association said Monday that it was launching a probe on whether to revoke the membership of Rudy Giuliani, the personal lawyer for President Donald Trump.
- The group cited Giuliani’s violent rhetoric at a rally for the president before the Capitol riot last week as well as other actions.
Oddly, just revoking his state bar association membership would not prevent him from practicing law in NY. “Disbarring a lawyer there requires action by the grievance committee of the Appellate Division of the state’s court system.”

Cumulus Media has reportedly ordered their radio hosts to stop saying that the election was stolen from Trump. Their hosts include noted conspiracy promoters Mark Levin, Ben Shapiro and Dan Bongino. It will be interesting to see if they comply

Good to hear. In a basic sense it would help a whole lot more if the conservative talking heads (looking at you rupert murdoch) stopped implying that fraud was a realistic concern then all these twitter bans and impeachments.
Trump didn’t really incite a violent insurrection so much as create a powerful conspiracy theory that countless people have repeated even though they know better.

I am not seeing any evaporation of availability in this Air BNB metric for this weekend, or for the 20th. Hopefully the threats are just online noise.
Not that the security should be any less, but I can’t really see any meaningful risk now the National Guard will be there. There are/will be ~15,000 armed National Guard soldiers. The previous attack relied on having 50+x ratio to the police.
How are they vetting the National Guard, though?

So I just heard on CNN that they’re planning attacks at all 50 state capitols. Naturally hubby is on his way to downtown Indianapolis a couple blocks from the Capitol as we speak.
I feel like Indy could be particularly ugly. Very red state and home of “traitor” Mike Pence. I’m imagining they think they’ll break into the Indiana Capitol and steal or deface Pence’s gubernatorial portrait. And will the Indiana National Guard stop this? How many will be sympathetic???
