Political truths that are worth sharing but aren’t funny

I’ve made many changes in my life to improve my lovability and acceptability, though none include sexual orientation, nor should they, nor could they.

There’s a thread for that . . .

People in both camps will read that and decide they need to dig in deeper to save their kids.

Was that before or after you first heard the Big Lie? Before or after you continued to hear the Big Lie?

Really??? Is the image the Biden Whitehouse desires???

Unclear which of those is when you first heard the Big Lie and which is when you continued to hear the Big Lie.

If only one side wants it, unity can only come from surrender. Turns out that those not on the far right have decided not to surrender. Good for them.

That is a bad visual. The artistic director did a very poor job.

The speech was decent though.

Yeah, the fact that photograph can be cropped down to remove the white and blue from the American Flag imagery they created is unfortunate and something that they should have tested and adjusted for.

Wide shot is very striking.
Zoomed in like ranger chose to use, unfortunate unintended consequences that has a bunch of treasonous hypocrites clutching their pearls.

I really am tired of pandering to the dregs of society.

It was an important speech the country needed.

We cannot have unity when MAGA has repeatedly embraced political violence in the wake of an election loss. It was not a speech about unity. MAGA is not compatible with unity. That was the point.

The content of the speech was spot on, but the people that need to hear it are not receptive to that message at all. When you believe Trump is the savior of the world, the deep state is the only thing standing in his way, and violence is needed to appoint him as supreme leader, you really don’t care what the head of the deep state has to say about that. As long as it’s the central belief of the GOP, the only unity that can take place is if everyone drinks the QAnon koolaid.

Part of the problem is that right wing pundits have been calling democrats socialist threats to democracy since the mid 90s

The president who leads an armed mob to prevent the peaceful transfer of power after he loses the election? Pay no attention to that.

All the outrage over biden naming trump for what he is, after he continues to attack democracy, and after biden genuinely did try to work with republicans, is incredibly hypocritical. I guess it’s only an attack on democracy if you want to raise taxes on top earned by a few percentage points.

Add to that the number of states where the GOP tried to submit fake electors ignoring the vote entirely, and the continuing efforts by the GOP in multiple states to create conditions where they can overrule the vote in their state in future elections.

While unity may not have been the goal, was the speech divisive? If so, what quotes did you find divisive? Not interested in some opinion written by someone else or bad faith summarizations of what Biden actually said.
