No pic of William Henry Harrison, though.
It was a lot warmer that day, high was 51 on his inauguration.
Was he worried about his crowd size too?
To be fair, JFK was 43 years old. Trump is 78.
It was also not particularly windy for JFK.
But more to the point, I have friends who are already negatively affected by Trump’s executive orders. Forgive me for not giving a crap whether or not the inauguration is held outside.
I don’t give a crap either. In fact it always seemed kind of dumb to have it outside, so maybe kudos to Trump for moving it indoors. (Broken clock… twice a day…)
But ugh… gonna be a long four years.
Already a long day.
First exec order: change MLK Jr Day to Annual Trump Inauguration Day.
Coronation day imo
Meme says 25 years one place and 20 years in another. Reading up, 20 years is correct. He died in 1998 and his ashes were interred in 2018.
I missed that inaccuracy. I did look it up on Wikipedia to confirm that his body is there and she presided over the ceremony, that’s all the fact-checking you get on a Friday afternoon from me.
At Katie’s and AJstudies’ suggestions I’ve been attending an Episcopalian church for the last year and a half as my local Presbyterian one just never quite felt right. Can’t quite put my finger on it, but it never did.
I’m in the process of joining the Episcopal one now. Really good people there.
I’m technically still a member of a church in a city I haven’t lived in for over a decade, but not for much longer.
Im assuming that an early draft maybe said something about him dying 25 years ago?
I happened to see the card where the ushers count the attendance. 8% higher this week than our weekly average. I’m not sure how that tracks for a typical Sunday in January. Attendance is higher during Advent and on Easter Sunday and lower over the summer. It’s also higher when the children’s choir sings (they didn’t sing today).
So I’m thinking that a random Sunday in January is probably normally pretty close to the average and this was a real uptick in attendance but it’s admittedly hard to be sure how meaningful that is.
Go Bishop Budde!
Seems to have forgotten what he said in 1909:
People’s Budget - Wikipedia
Eh, taxing rich people is fine. Taxing everyone equally is not.
Simple progressive tax theory.
