The NAIC just got hit by a cyber attack.

The US insurance industry’s standard setter has suspended its risk designations on the investments of insurers, after a cyber attack compromised data from rating agencies including Moody’s, S&P and KBRA. Hacking group ShinyHunters this month claimed responsibility for accessing the systems of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, a body that coordinates state insurance rules and classifies the riskiness of insurers’ holdings. The NAIC said on Friday that credit rating agencies had “paused” data sharing in the wake of the breach, and that it had also suspended assigning its own risk designations to insurers’ investments.

Is it a crime to get this kind of passport and burn it for fun?

Just asking…

Google says that is not a crime, if it is a passport you obtain in your own name

How about burning only the dickhead?

Asking for a friend.

Surprised he’s not cgi’d into the picture on the right side.

Burning only the picture of the dickhead is not a crime if you get the passport in your name. Burning the dickhead would be a crime, even if justifiable, but there might be a chance of jury nullification.

I need to get my passport renewed. I’ll mail it in like I have previously, so hopefluly that eliminates the risk of getting stuck with that POS for the next 10 years.

When I was asking after the, um, commemorative design was announced, the news reports indicated that it would only be available for in-person applications at the DC passport office.

My passport expires next May. That bit of information made me feel comfortable sticking to my plan of renewing late this fall / early this winter.

I forget whether this suit was mentioned here, and if so in which thread…but there’s an update on the Glorious Loser’s suit against the BBC:

Google also says it is a crime, as it is government property, not yours.

I think Google’s use of Gemini for search results still needs a bit of work.

Neither convinced this is qualified for the Truths thread, nor convinced it is not.

Thought this was interesting given current efforts by Trump and the Republican party to kill off science in the US.

China is now relying more on their own science than US science for a lot of their work.

It seems like China is on track to surpass the US in more and more areas in the near future. Meanwhile the US is isolating itself.

Another good article on the Nordic model which Trump would view as socialist or communist as it provides everyone with a good standard of living.

I suspect this cuts into US defence sales…
