Did “they” make her prove she is a woman?

Asking for a friend.

From the video at the link, someone denied Noem and her DHS entourage permission to enter the building.

EDIT - a potentially more well-rounded tale of the drama is available at Fox News of all places: DHS Secretary Noem says she was denied bathroom access at Illinois building | Fox News

I feel like there’s a small fortune to be made selling railings in Russia.

Without money back guarantees, of course.

Head of Pravda is quite a career choice.

The predictable negative consequences to age verification laws that people have been warning about have indeed started to happen.

This might not even be political…and the possibility that this is just an airline f–k up is why I’m not putting this in the milestones thread…but given other things happening…

NYT gift link: Rutgers Expert on Antifa Tries to Flee to Spain After Death Threats

Spain would not have cared about his writings or views, so its definitely on the US side.

Seems that they are now targeting someone they dont like with exit bans, a la China. Very, very illegal in the US without some due process but it seems the rule of law has left the building.

I don’t know whether it’s an “exit ban” versus a progression of the logic, “terrorists are put on the no-fly list” »» “Glorious Leader says antifa = terrorist” »» “People recognized as antifa are now going to end up on the no-fly list.”

But having the ticket canceled at the gate is very, very weird.

It is something that evidently can be done, and nowadays will be done.
Wondering why they don’t let him leave?
Oh yeah, they want him to endure more death threats, maybe have his hour put on fire. Misery, that’s what the sociopaths in this Administration jack (or jill – I want to be inclusive) off to.

Part of why I’m hesitating about sounding the alarm bell is situations like this one from a response to Mark’s BlueSky post:

I actually can imagine an airline automated process getting…weird. But I can also imagine our Glorious Leader’s minions deciding to up the pressure on critics.

It’s a challenge, trying to differentiate between anti-MAGA hysteria online and the extent to which things actually really are going down the crapper.

Comedy, cuz THIS MUCH money will make you do it. Oh, please read the fine print in the contract.

Apologies for Instagram link, but interesting anecdote from noted lawyer Bryan Stevenson (NYU professor, MacArthur fellow, Harvard Law grad).

This struck me as a big deal. I don’t know where else to put it.

China pushed more than one million people out of their homes in west-central China a quarter-century ago and flooded a vast area for the reservoir of the Three Gorges Dam. This year, China has been installing enough solar panels every three weeks to match the power generation capacity of that dam.

I remember the stories about the Three Gorges Dam. It is still the biggest in the world in terms of generating capacity.

Seems asinine that the government is firing off CDC staff like this.

Loving the conservative outrage over Trudeau dating Katy Perry. Nothing in the story about it, but quit a bit on twitter.
