I’m skeptical about the precise accuracy of this as there is a one-mile radius flight restriction over Mar-a-Lago…but it’s the thought that counts.

While that story has been around for a while and may be apocryphal as stated, I can confirm that a very similar exchange has happened in reality.
(When I was a teen, there was this one time my grandma and I were out shopping, and she was requiring I practice my limited skills in Shawnee with her. She was criticized for not speaking English, and… well, she could be a little mouthy when irritated.)

It is not surprising that Quebec embraced Canada after Trump started his 51st state rhetoric. French language rights would be one of the first things to go if Canada was annexed by the USA.
