If they replace all the Dunkins with Tim Hortons that would be compelling…
How does Tim Horton’s coffee compare to Dunkin’?
I realize that it’s nothing amazingly special, but I buy the ~3 lb cartons of Dunkin’ coffee at Costco and that’s what I use to make my iced coffee. This was my ex’s doing: he liked Dunkin’ and I didn’t drink much coffee until going back to work after maternity leave was over. It wasn’t worth having two kinds of coffee and now I’m used to it and don’t want to change. But I mean, I suppose I could…
They both taste fine when accompanied by a donut. On their own they are mediocre.
If I am having just a coffee I go to an independent local purveyor. If I am buying beans there are lots of local roasters; no need to patronize Starbucks.
Well I have Dunkin’ coffee without donuts every morning.
It used to be pretty good. Now it’s trash. Nobody goes there anymore. Far better coffee at McDonalds. And I’m not even kidding.
The myth is that McDonalds got the contract with the bean company that used to serve Tim Hortons. I believe it. There’s a McDonalds and a Tim’s right across from each other where I live, I haven’t been to Tim’s in many, many years.
Plus Tim’s food is inedible. Absolutely disgusting. Plus their service sucks ass.
I’m starting to rant now, aren’t I?
Remember: Timmie’s is now owned by the same company that owns Burger King.
The last time I went through Horton’s drive through:
Me: A medium coffee two cream. Two teas, with one milk each. An apple juice, and two peach juices.
Them: Sorry, can you repeat that?
Me: A medium coffee two cream. Two teas, with one milk each. An apple juice, and two peach juices.
Them: A coffee…mumbled.
Me: A medium coffee two cream. Two teas, with one milk each. An apple juice, and two peach juices.
Them: Please pull forward.
I get to the window. They open the window - and I am NOT kidding - they said "How many hot chocolates was that?'. I was just about apopleptic.
I haven’t been since.
I’d say it’s in the same market category as dunkin. Maybe it’s the novelty or the fact I’m usually on vacation when I have Tim Hortons but it just feels like a better version of Dunkin
Looks like we saw them at about the same time. Two additional ones are here: Canada <> US - #1729 by Maphistos_Sidekick
Gretzky deserves this. The tasting notes were brilliant.
