 first face for both, tf?

He’s a comedian who got elected because Ukranians were tired with the corruption problems in prior governments, and prior to the war he had actually had some success at clean-up duty. Instead of accepting an evacuation offer at the start of the invasion, he’s overseen a surprisingly effective resistance to invaders who have numerical superiority and a willingness to ignore international law.

Is he perfect? No (and I’m aware that I probably am unaware of his inevitable flaws).

Would he be a better option than our current President Krasnov? Absolutely. (But that’s a hurdle so low that a paraplegic little person whose legs have been amputated could cross it.)

Would he be a better option than our possibly de facto current president, Elmo? Probably.

Would he be a better option than various American citizens whose names might appear in the primary races in a couple of years? Depends on who they are.

Side note: Holy shit, look at that map! I’m used to a very simple map of rails in So Cal. Not sure how this is useful for someone at Point A wanting to get to Point B. This is more like “How to get from Point {A, B, C,…} to Point {A, B, C…}.” I assume there is some app for individual needs? TP, help a bro out!

A brilliant Banksy-like. But it’s by Loretto (duh). Also, this is a modified pic of the actual wall. The original has Trump facing in the same direction as the other apes. And the shot makes it look like he’s going downhill, but the original was horizontal. And the work went up after his 1st election.

I ended up getting help going from Heathrow to central London as I was staring at the electronic kiosk long enough to get the attention of an attendant. I was unprepared to find “stop x” on that map! The signage to find that train was also terrible. Note, lack of sleep on the flight was likely a factor in all of that.

There’s a reason why, when I booked both my first transatlantic commute and my vacation trip to Europe (my first trips to Europe in over 26 years), I picked hotels that are trivially or almost trivially simple to get to via public transit.
