I’ll call it the Willis Tower before I call it the Gulf of America.

Gulf of America is AMAB (assigned Mexico at birth).

I might go along with it if they changed it to the Gulf of North America

I’m kind of torn on this one, tbh.

Very similar, posted by a former AO regular on Facebook

First version is probably more accurate. The Legislative branch has been voluntarily ceding power to the other two branches for at least a couple of decades.

Hm. Between making a mockery of the impeachment process and proposing term limits for the judiciary branch but still not for their own, I had the impression that they were voluntarily taking power. shrug

Well members of the Senate refusing to judge Trump on the merits of the case against him is certainly ceding power.

I hadn’t heard about term limits for the judiciary other than the SCOTUS.

Mike Lee wants to speed run giving up Congressional power. His response to Musk repeatedly violating the Impoundment Control Act of 1974 (which was put in place to curb Nixon)? Repeal the law.

The Nazis in 1930’s Germany never had the popular vote share the Republicans did in 2024. AfD is still a minority party too. So not quite 1930’s in Germany.

1932 - Socialist 37% of the vote,
German Turnout around 84% of the population = 31% eligible voters

2024 - 50% vote - 64% turnout = 32% eligible voters

seems pretty close
