Don’t give them ideas…
Good advice for Assad.
GoA scoop! That is the editorial cartoon in today’s Philadelphia Inquirer.
Can’t tell if it’s supposed to be a statement about the upcoming Elon and Vivek Show or about our federal government being broken (and thus deserving of some measure of metaphorical blowing up), or about both I suppose.
That sort of mirrors an internal debate I’ve been having.
I’ve not been shy in pointing out that a lot of my political views start from the foundation of being a “pragmatic small-ell libertarian”. And from that perspective, an argument can be made that “things” are sufficiently broken that nuking from orbit / ripping off the band-aid might be the most realistic way to address that brokenness.
I won’t deny that some of the things Elmo has said do resonate with me.
However, when it comes to the details or the potential “what comes after”… I have no faith in Elmo’s judgment or priorities, leading me to remember the phrase, “be careful what you wish for”.
I take it you are no familiar with the minions.
Being Musk, I would think he’d build a new economy that it would unexpectedly set fire to itself.
No I am. I know that they mean well, but in their bumbling their cure is often worse than the disease, so to speak. Which is why I left open the possibility that it’s a statement about Elon and Vivek.
You’re kidding right? Elon is looking to fleece the government for whatever he can get.
Oh wait, you were talking about the minions from the movie?
This.
I’m reserving judgment on this whole (possibly unconstitutional) DOGE thing until they start actually doing actual things.
