It is tempting, but i have decided to err on the side of caution as I wouldn’t want to mock someone whose mental state might not be stable and whose self-loathing drove them to ill-advised methods. Gaetz wouldn’t likely suffer if I did make an exception for him, but i view it as a personal stand against the coarseness of what passes for civil discourse today.
Doesn’t mean i didn’t ctm on viewing, but at least i felt bad for it

Do you mock people for how they dress? For what kind of dog they choose to own? Car they buy?
I mean, sure, one should not mock others period, but people – famous and powerful people --make poor choices, and someone will definitely mock them for it. And if they are already terrible people, exploiting children for sex, for example, then do not worry about mocking them. You will be arrested for treason soon enough for other reasons.
As a sartorially challenged individual probably on the receiving end more than giving. Nowdays i am more on the “you do you” end for people’s clothing choices than “fashion police! Pull over!” end.

I can respect that.
I do, however, think that someone who has voluntarily put themself forward as a leader, and who is consciously making decisions about (or consenting to) their appearance as part of an overall image they’re trying to portray is fair game. (I’d make an exception for someone who showed a little humility and acknowledged that things had not gone as planned when preparing.)
Someone whose aesthetic doesn’t conform to convention and who isn’t seeking the limelight, or is clearly not trying to leverage support or build credibility with their appearance, however…I’d agree.

Gaetz is an asshole. It might not be his fault he is a complete idiot, but I will mock him for doing stupid things. Because he chooses to be an asshole.
