Based on all available data this is a far safer option than a firearm.
I assume it’s because the Canadian election is predicted to usher in Trump-style conservatives.
An alternate version could have a bunch of Americans fleeing to Canada if Trump wins a second term.

Don’t know if it’s humorous, but the fact that the US/Canada border is the longest “unguarded” border in the world . . . but now . . .
I can see both interpretations but expect it is primarily the fear of Trumpism.
I would welcome the types of Americans who would flee to Canada under a Trump administration. I also had no problems with the hordes of young Americans who fled here in the 1960’s.
