Placeholder, discussions will start by GOP in a few days.
No need to overturn, just a SCOTUS interpretation that it only applies to consecutive terms.
Well, that was quick…
What are the odds he’ll live long enough to do it?
On the flip side if he does manage to do it, Obama can come back and beat him.
Oh, that would almost be worth watching
Nope, Obama already had consecutive terms, so he can’t run again. And this applies to Michelle too because [insert reason later]. -SCOTUS
Do you really think this is going to happen? Calm down. It won’t.
Honestly, I don’t think Trump will make it through 4 years as president. Either he’ll die, or the 25th amendment will be invoked at some point.
That will require a man with balls who currently sucks Trump’s dick. {}
Trump will absolutely try, why would he settle for only 2 terms?
That might make it all worth it
I think he is the man receiving the best medical attention in the world for the next 4 years. Unless something fatal gets him we are together.
There it is
All he needs to do is get another term by means other than being elected. Then the 22nd Amendment wouldn’t be a factor.
I find it funny that there were people pushing for Obama to do that, but now those same people are likely crying about Trump considering it.
I’m not a fan of it either way.
I don’t doubt that some liberals advocated for that. However, the candidate themselves and their noteworthy associates were not publicly advocating for it AFAIK. That’s a very important difference.
You’re trolling with this, surely.
Nah, he’s a true believer. Definitely not trolling.
Trump’s flirtation with a thirds term evokes the classic autocrat’s dilemmas: when legitimacy falters, improvise—and if that fails, bulldoze the guardrails.
Yet what’s truly unsettling is the cultic devotion of his base: uncritical, performatively obedient, and hostile to reason itself.
Did Obama ever say he wanted a third term? Ever say he’d found a way to do it?
