I started a single thumb sized cactus in the one on the left. Then I put some cow poop and soil in the styrofoam cup and placed it under a branch that grew out of the pot of the first. This then grew to the snake plant. Now there’s a cactus trynna get outta that…
I do enjoy working from home, but for the last year or two when I lived in Denver I had a window office that faced west so I had a full view of the Rockies and that wasn’t too bad. Now my office windows just look out at the neighborhood - which isn’t bad, it’s big trees and old homes.
I wish I had a picture of my old plant. It was kind of vine-like. Everyone at work used to be given a plant on their first anniversary, and that was mine. Over time, it ran along the tops of cubes, starting on the floor, going up a side wall, headed to the back, then made its way 3 cubes over to a window. And it had one side shoot along the side of another cube. I put several pots along the path and it send down roots into each. Unfortunately, it was a victim of covid.
I’ve now got impatiens and I’m trying to grow radishes, basil, rosemary, and asparagus, but without a lot of success. I don’t think the light I’ve got is enough for the edibles.
I’ve been thinking of trying to get a wall of official Wrigley Field ivy. I think that would be pretty humorous. I need someone to go out to the bleachers and snag me a few leaves for starters, as I’m unlikely to be there.
