Northern Lights

Ah. Thanks. The “night vision” helps me understand.

But, isn’t everything green with night vision?

True night vision goggles like the military use has a greenish hue, but that setting on a phone camera is just more light sensitive. Colors turn out naturally on most pictures.

If it’s clear where you are tonight, could be a good night to get out there

Too much light pollution here, not visible with the naked eye OR night mode camera. Other people in my city can see them, but they’re in much less urban areas than I am.

Caught a bit of them earlier, visible to he naked eye but nothing dramatic. Seemed to fade away after a few minutes.

i am very much in an urban suburbia locale. camera saw it best apparently (not my pic - but a neighbor’s)

Could be a good night to get out there tonight if you have clear skies

I looked to the north and saw lotsa wispy and not-so-wispy clouds, so fluff that. :frowning:

******in’ :cloud: !!!

My wife’s iphone’s filter can photograph it. I don’t see it with my eyes.

Looks like it was a bust for the eastern side of North America, but I’ve seen some incredible pictures from Alberta.
