That makes me say “WTF?!?!”
I’ve seen a crash where the driver obviously had a heart attack or stroke right before he collided into the truck that had been sitting stopped at a light. He was still alive when the ambulance showed up, and was conscious, but he was not all there.
I haven’t updated my motor vehicle accident crash age chart for 2022 yet, but here are 2018-2021 [and partial 2022]
Most MVA deaths are of drivers, of course. In pre-pandemic years, actually the age 85+ bucket had higher death rates on an annual basis. (On miles-driven basis, much worse, of course) This dropped in 2020, but it bounced back in 2021.
Of course, this death might not actually get counted as a MVA death, if the driver actually died from a stroke or heart attack before the vehicle hit the house.
This could also go in some political threads. I’ll move it there if the discussion turns that way.
Congress to hold hearings on the most important issue of the day: on UFO’s and whether the US holds hidden alien spacecraft
This “whistleblower” particularly wants to get to the bottom of reports that the Pope helped smuggle an alien craft to the US in the 1940’s
Does anyone actually believe they’re holding clear evidence of extraterrestrial intelligence?
I mean, that’s society altering. Not sure I’m ready for that in my lifetime.
Still looking for convincing signs of terrestrial intelligence.
I am, but I am waiting until the is time right to tell people.
Yes, there are people who believe this.
Are you asking if any of us believe that? Gonna go with 99% “no.”
99% seems high even for here. General public is much higher.
A couple gallup articles on their surveys on UFO belief.
While not a majority, 33% of Americans believe alien spacecraft have visited Earth at some point. This group is potentially sympathetic to those who want to uncover what the government knows about alien landings, once and for all.
Another third or so of Americans may assume the government isn’t being completely transparent about what it knows, but not because it is hiding something. For example, they may believe officials are keeping quiet because unidentified sightings could unnecessarily alarm the public, or because refuting UFOs would require disclosing sensitive military information.
Regardless of what Americans think of UFOs or the government’s awareness of them, the subject is part of the nation’s consciousness with 86% of U.S. adults saying they have heard of or read about unidentified flying objects.
Unidentified Flying Objects… sure. The Chinese balloons were UFOs for a bit. Actual alien spacecraft? That’s pretty different.
Maybe I’m taking the term UFO a bit too seriously, but am I the only one?
No, you’re not , and , no, you’re not.
I’ve seen a UFO by the literal definition of UFO. I sure as hell am not suggesting it originated from anywhere besides earth. We just couldn’t figure out what it was…it’s been a while but it was kind of like the spacely sprockets that Leon is sending up for the interwebs but there were only three of them & this was a few years before I heard of him doing his thing. As I recall , they were orangish in color, we saw them twice in the same night (traveling the same direction and in the same line each time ), and they didn’t appear to dip below the horizon, they just faded out.
I’ve also seen flying objects that i couldn’t identify, and referred to them as UFOs. I’d be pretty shocked if any of them carried little green men, though.
Agree with the last few comments that UFO’s aren’t all that uncommon in terms of unexplained phenomena. That’s pretty different from the hearings investigating whether the Pope help smuggle an alien spacecraft to the US.
It’s only one step!!
Some Americans have good taste?

More FAFO than WTF, but since the prior article was here I figured I’d put the follow up here too
That was a sweet story, the headline didn’t really do it justice.
If it was all-dressed I’d be impressed
Yes. It was really more about the touching father-son trip.
