They should have given this guy a Darwin award.
They haven’t yet achieved the key requirement for a Darwin award: prevention of the propagation of their genes through the gene pool.
Apparently Texas doesn’t want to be outdone by Utah and Florida
I ought to check if we have anything like a “do not write” list.
Maybe they should just offer him a job as a firefighter.
I was at a National Historical Park this weekend. Their urinals had something I’d not seen before - a locking device over the coupling nut that connects the urinal to the water supply so you can’t unscrew the nut. Is that really something that is necessary? Do they have a problem with people stealing used urinals?
well, if you are going from there and camping where there are no bathrooms, i could believe someone would want to take one with them.
I know a guy who designed these things for public facilities (I don’t know urinals, but he did talk about faucets) and he said everything needs to be built to be able to foil an ingenious 16yo with a pen knife.
This reminded me of this…
Old Man on a porch: “I warned you about that A.I. Sematary… they come back, but they’re not the same…”
I guess he finally managed to make a living from his bizarre hobby.
guarantee the first thing he said was “It’s not mine, officer, I swear!”
Reminds me of Fyre Festival II

A mathy one that left me scratching my head a bit…
Blockquote The average price of a McDonald’s menu item increased 40 percent from 2019 to 2024, which the company says tracks with the rise in its costs. The cost of the company’s signature Big Mac sandwich rose 21 percent during that time, according to a company fact sheet, while the price of an Egg McMuffin and a 10-piece McNuggets Meal climbed 23 percent and 28 percent, respectively. The consumer price index rose almost 23 percent during the same period, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Blockquote
The cost of their main item went up 21%, but their average menu price went up 40% and you’re saying the rise tracks the rise in costs? Looks to me like their prices went up faster than their costs. Perhaps close to twice as fast? What did the costs of soft drinks and French fries do?
Those price increases (way above inflation) are the reason why McDonalds sales are falling.
At that price point, there are simply better local burger options.
