Duuuuuuuuude, how was your weekend???
Excellent! Got in Thursday to their Brooklyn apartment and caught up with cousin, cousin’s wife, and two kids who are 2 & 4 years younger than my youngest.
Spent time Friday wandering the Guggenheim museum (got inspiration and started a story) and then Manhattan. Cousin and I went to Death Becomes Her, musical, Friday night. Then cafe for a burger and back by midnight.
Saturday I wandered through Prospect Park, hit the farmer’s market, finished writing the story at the library, then we watched cousin’s kid’s soccer game while I caught up with my Aunt & Uncle (cousin’s parents). I then went out to try and catch some stand-up. I didn’t have a reservation at the places who need reservations, and stand-by list didn’t pan out, so I ended up in the small bar / club combo a couple of times listening to people who are clearly working their way up. It was pretty rough, not very good yet, and likely that maybe only one of the 15 or so I saw over 2 shows will be around in another year or two. A couple of slices of pizza and back around 1.
Sunday was a stroll along the High Line park and some skyline watching with cousin, plus a lot of chatting about life, parentage, gaming (D&D and Magic: the Gathering), creativity, etc. He’s a good dude - a lot like me in several ways, and different enough that we still have lots of interesting conversations.

I was at a flea market at the Shore on Saturday and Football camp upstate NY on Sunday. I coulda met you. But at least you had company.
