A coworker who I consider a friend is considering an external offer. As a colleague, I hope they stay, I will miss them. As a friend, I hope they do what makes them happiest. I have a feeling that means they will leave.

i started driving kids to school in january. their parents did not feel safe waiting with them at bus stops or having them wait alone at the stops at the time. ~5% of the students in the district were using such an arrangement (basically being driven by a consistent and vetted stranger).
the families decided that post-spring break they would be return to “regular” . Yay, the world/city isn’t as awful as it was. But yesterday was the last ride and I don’t think the kids knew and I couldn’t say anything bc it isn’t my place. I will miss them in the minivan

My gf went to an event that was being catered by an Afghani restaurant. There was a ton of food left, which was gonna get pitched, but they got a few of us to divvy it up. Now we have a boatload of rice with chickpeas, carrots and mild spice to eat: we’re gonna have to freeze some of it.
