A coworker who I consider a friend is considering an external offer. As a colleague, I hope they stay, I will miss them. As a friend, I hope they do what makes them happiest. I have a feeling that means they will leave.

i started driving kids to school in january. their parents did not feel safe waiting with them at bus stops or having them wait alone at the stops at the time. ~5% of the students in the district were using such an arrangement (basically being driven by a consistent and vetted stranger).
the families decided that post-spring break they would be return to āregularā . Yay, the world/city isnāt as awful as it was. But yesterday was the last ride and I donāt think the kids knew and I couldnāt say anything bc it isnāt my place. I will miss them in the minivan

My gf went to an event that was being catered by an Afghani restaurant. There was a ton of food left, which was gonna get pitched, but they got a few of us to divvy it up. Now we have a boatload of rice with chickpeas, carrots and mild spice to eat: weāre gonna have to freeze some of it.
ETA: Just pan fried some salmon and reheated the rice with some broccoli. It smells so gooood - but we have so darned much rice yet to finish!!

Just mixed up my new sourdough starter to make some dough. Iāll give it a few hours and see if it puffs up.

My therapy moved to Mondays, and while I never had done this before, two weeks in a row I had the craving to treat myself to boba tea on the way to therapy for doing good stuff that week. The boba tea place is closed on Mondays. Sad.
I ordered tapioca pearls and few optional things like taro mix and they should arrive today. Happy.
Went to a funeral visitation this afternoon, followed by a bridal shower for our friendsā daughter.
Finally had the fiber installation I ordered back in October completed. Of course, the main instigation of the installation ā cable internet that was prone to random drop-outs ā was fixed after some equipment in the neighborhood was replaced this winter.
Now I need to go contact the providerās customer service again and try to convince the CSR that I really donāt need their āwhole house WiFi protectionā that was put on my account, as I provided the networking gear, and Iām only using their ONT.
And after that bit of joy, assuming the fiber stays upā¦at some point Iāll go figure out how to argue with the cable company to discontinue service.
The dandelions have bloomed with a vengeance already. I donāt give a ratās 
about them, but I know people are upset that the city doesnāt spray herbicides anymore.
Iām busy eradicating dandelions right now. mostly successfully. Meanwhile neighbours on both sides have a field full of them.
Left to my own devices I wouldnāt spray, but thereās differing opinions in the household.
We are finally doing landscaping this year. Iāve sprayed in the past but this year I got pretty aggressive and sprayed 2-3 times so far, and Iāve got most of the buggers gone. Iāll make another sweep this week, Iāve seen 3-4 still alive and growing.
Iām debating buying one of those fancy Fiskars weed pullers, but itās probably overkill at this point given how effective the spraying has gone.
I have one. Lifetime warranty. Mine broke. Two years I havenāt had time to do the warranty thing.
Iām told there are some plastic bits that can break. There is a similar tool called Grampaās Weeder or something like that, and it is all metal with a wooden handle, but it doesnāt have the āauto ejectā mechanism that the Fiskar has.

Some days being self employed is awesome. Do what I want, when I want.
other days its 10:20pm and I still have 2 more proposals to run and unfinished business that will have to get kicked over to tomorrow morning. Hereās hoping Iām done by 11.
Then again, on the other hand, Iām working late because I just made some moneh.
