This is one of my favourite daily games. If you’ve never done cryptic crosswords before, there’s a guide if you scroll down on the site a bit, it explains the different kinds of wordplay you can expect to find in the puzzles, along with some examples you can try out. Each day has a new cryptic crossword clue, and you can get hints if needed. They also provide a video explaining the day’s solution.
For anyone unfamiliar with cryptic crosswords, each clue is a word puzzle and the answer to the clue can be found by selecting/rearranging the letters/words in the clue (sometimes you have to substitute a synonym).
Thank you. This is great. I love cryptic crosswords. It takes a solid sit down explanation to understand how it works, and then listening to a few examples, but once you get the hang of it, they are really fun. I’m mad at myself that I needed a few hints today. I haven’t done cryptics in awhile though, so I’m rusty (I’ll tell myself).
As an actuary, I don’t have nearly the same enthusiasm for word puzzles as I do for math puzzles.
There"s a cryptic in every Contingencies Magazine.
Seems there is market for them.

I tend to like all puzzles. My daily puzzle list is quite high between LinkedIn, NYT, Betweenle, Minute Cryptic, and some other ones I sometimes do.
I’m similar. Logic puzzles are my top choice. Crosswords are low on the list. But this is closer to a logic puzzle than a crossword puzzle.
Hmmm. I didn’t love today’s. Even though I got it without a hint.
I haven’t figured it out yet. But I agree, today’s isn’t as fun. I like the ones with a longer clue that you can decipher. Bonus points if it’s a really high par and I don’t need a hint.
I got today’s with no hint. Now that I solved it I like it more because I did it with no help ![]()
Today’s was easy.
I’d like to see some past ones, but it required a sign-in.
Also, can’t see it at work. Used home PC instead.
I like the variety as well, and I’ve got a similar set with Inkwell thrown in for a couple of logic-type puzzles as well.
If you go to their YouTube page they post solutions to the daily puzzle. You could pause the video before they give the solution.
Today’s was super easy.
Took me a bit, but when I gave up on my first path and tried my second path, it was then pretty quick. No hints again.
Check out Starstruck, which is free and it’s on the Netflix website. It’s a spacial logic puzzle. 2 every day. An easy one that takes less than a minute usually. But the hard one can take much longer.
There is also a Netflix puzzle app for the phone with 8 different games. Includes Starstruck.
