I was half-expecting that firing random people was now the price for tending the Toad, rather than $130k checks written by the fixer.
This is sad

This is very worrying, to put it mildly.
“failure to zealously advocate” - a lot of the language that the right has used in their culture war over the years has been to label the left as a bunch of zealots that blindly followed party over country on a range of issues. MAGA is going to MAGA, but this echo chamber they have created in the administration is slipping in the language they use. I think it’s a matter of time before there is a real PR nightmare that they create for themselves.
Everyone that is in the administration right now has passed a loyalty test, but no matter how effective you think that test is, humans aren’t absolutely predictable, and loyalty will fail. Once it fails, we will hear about leaks, the leaks will lead to failures in trust, there will be infighting, and it will get ugly quickly.
Promise?
There isn’t a core belief system. Loyalty to Trump is over-leveraged and people are spouting nonsense at the fringes to provide cover.
I’m less surprised they suspended him, and more surprised they chose a stooge in the first place. Presumably a strategy of some sort.
Pam Bondi: Admiral, you have failed me for the last time!
Here we go again.
Military parade can be paid for by the tariffs collected from Heard Island.
The main entrance to the DOJ is supposed to look like this, with pictures of the President, VP, and AG up:
But today, DOJ attorneys are supposed to serve the President, not the US, and the main entrance looks like:
I don’t think I would feel much better if the pictures were Trump, Vance, and Bondi.
It’s a somewhat aggressive headline, but not inaccurate.
Just wait until every household is required to display a picture of Dear Leader in a suitable shrine.
Kleptocracy
More digital book burning:
A state commission scrubbed academic research from a database used by Mississippi libraries and public schools — a move made to comply with recent state laws changing what content can be offered in libraries.
The Mississippi Library Commission ordered the deletion of two research collections that might violate state law, a March 31 internal memo obtained by Mississippi Today shows. One of the now deleted research collections focused on “race relations” and the other on “gender studies.”
The memo did not cite the specific state laws that prompted the deletion of research material related to race and gender. But in a phone interview, Bivins cited a 2023 law that regulates digital resources available to minors in public libraries, focusing on “obscene materials.” Bivins said there were other laws that warranted the deletion, but he could not remember all of the specific laws when asked.
I don’t know what universe someone has to live in for gender studies and race relations qualify as “obscene materials” but in all fairness, only remember having lived in this one.
This is the reason why people wanted Biden to sign preemptive pardons:
President Donald Trump is targeting two former first-term appointees over their criticism of his actions, stripping their security clearances and opening federal probes of their tenures.
The directives that Trump signed on Wednesday order the Justice Department to scrutinize former senior Department of Homeland Security official Miles Taylor and Christopher Krebs, who ran Trump’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.
Trump on Wednesday called Taylor a “traitor,” even as he insisted that the former DHS chief of staff played a minimal role in his first administration.
“I barely remember him. Somebody that went out and wrote a book and said all sorts of terrible things that were all lies,” Trump said in the Oval Office Wednesday. “I think he’s guilty of treason.”
The president signed a similar order taking aim at Krebs, who was fired after he contradicted Trump’s baseless claims of election fraud following the 2020 election.

Wondering where the “treason” part is.
I mean, working for tRump could be evidence of treason.
Is “treason” now defined as “saying mean things about me”?
