Okay, I think we got all the dust knocked off the scoreboard and got all the kinks worked out of the system, so we’re finally ready to get our first update!
We had a great turnout for the opening throws, and the VA and T.N.Linus Regions get a 
for perfect attendance for the first day - well done! The EC Region fell just short of that standard, and there was a little more hesitation in the JFG Region, but that’s kinda understandable, since the thought of having to take on the defending RPS champion can be a bit daunting.
Barring surprises (and/or lack of throws) my intent is to update twice a day every work day, so as always, contestants - please keep sending in those throws! Let’s keep this crowd entertained!

The good news is nearly everyone who is in an active match has submitted throws - we’ve heard at least once from everyone except for Echo (say JFG, can you do something about that??).
We now have two players that are halfway to advancing to the next round … which also means we have two players who are halfway to getting eliminated! 
Things still in the testing-the-waters stage in the opening round, as most matches are still only going one throw, with just a single game going two throws in each of the first two updates, and none any further. However, we all know with all the RPS veterans here that this will be changing soon, as players start to develop their late-match tactics - we’ve seen it before, we’ll see it again… and we’ll love every minute of it! 
Keep those throws coming!

Apologies for the lateness of tonight’s update, but one good thing about waiting this long is we got a lot of throws in, so good job outta all y’all!
Echo has finally shown up, so noweveryone has checked in who has an active match .
That bodes well for an active Friday (remember, even if it’s a DNGAF Friday for you, you still can make throws here - it’s not that strenuous!).
And not to say I called it, but, well… I called it. The matches are already picking up in intensity, especially in the T.N.Linus region, where the two active games went three and four throws to tie up both matches!! 
The VA Region also threw in a 3-throw game for good measure as well.
Keep those throws coming, and Friday should have better timed updates, because you gotta frequently check in on the RPS tournament on Friday, right? Right!

(I was just gonna try to sneak this in and see if anyone noticed, but I’m just gonna admit it instead.)
Tournament Notice
There was an oversight in setting up the tournament. Doctor_Who signed up, but was inadvertantly left off the sign-up list (y’all know we would never advertantly do such a thing!).
As a result, Doctor_Who has now been added to the tournament, albeit as the last signer-upper (yes, that’s the official RPS term) instead of at Doctor_Who’s original seed (that’s the best we can do under the circumstances). This means that soyleche no longer has a bye, but other than that everything else in the tournament is the same as before.
The RPS Tournament Committee regrets this oversight, and accepts any and all scorn/heckling for this error. Thank you.

Quick Summary:
That’s right - we’re breaking out the Quick Summary for the first time in the tournament! For those of you new to the RPS tournament, the quick summary will tell you the major highlights of what’s happening in the brackets. We’ll introduce each summary icon as we go - the tells us that a player is just one throw away from elimination! In this case, even though Whiskey put up a valiant 3-throw fight, Whiskey is now down 3-1, and thus in status until it changes, for better or worse. (We at RPS HQ always root for the rally, because that’s what gets us the ratings!)
Otherwise, we’re sitting at a lot of matches halfway there, so this afternoon’s update could be chock full o’ goodness… so stay tuned (and keep sending in those throws! ).
