Wow I’m terrible at this game

International Women’s Day after all.
While you’re waiting for RPS results, there’s ~24 hours left to submit your entry into the sheep contest. Read all about it, if you prefer rock, here , if you prefer paper, here, or , if you prefer scissors , here . (If you have no RPS-preference, then kindly use this link.)
Looks like @Tiffany is shredding @MayanActuary . . .

I warned y’all it was going to be a late update (but I really didn’t think it would be this late…
).
In summary, the stars are out in the SteveGrondin region (well, the *'s are, at any rate); the VA Region keeps chugging along, with 2 matches already past the halfway point (and one in full
status!); the Rocks were flying effectively in the soyleche region; and Scissors told the tale in the Snake region.
Just as an FYI, I’ll soon be using the “Quick Summary” at the beginning of each recap.
Here’s a quick refresher on the “quick update” symbols:
= a player is one throw away from elimination
= we’re going to the final “winner-take-all” game of the match
= a player has been eliminated (and not-so-coincidentally a player has advanced)
So this recap would’ve had:
![]()
at the top, due to Kid_Rock being one throw away from being eliminated.
It’ll all make sense very soon, as we’re starting to get to the critical juncture in a number of matches… so keep those throws coming, and stay tuned for the action! ![]()

Key: * indicates throws submitted; # indicates throws need to be turned in or you will be booted
I’m confused as to what I’m looking at here.
How many picks were we supposed to submit? Why do some matchups have scores and others don’t?
You submit 5 throws each time. Looks like you’ve submitted throws since you have an asterisk by your name, but your opponent has yet to submit his so the first match for you hasn’t been scored. If both opponents submit quickly some matches finish faster than others and get scores quicker than others.
Maybe you should give her an example of the kind of throws you might throw next.
That’s what I thought, but then I read
and I got confused.
Second thing I’m confused about: when it was posted
They both picked Rock for the first game, no? Isn’t that a tie? Then in the second game Klaymen won. Now… they’re not done? They keep going??? Doesn’t UA already have all of their picks? Why not post the full results?
What if two players choose
RRRRR
RPPSS
Now at the end of 5 games they’re going to be tied 2-2.
That all counts as one game.
Because otherwise this whole thing would be wrapped up in a week and there would be less suspense.
And UA? will only report out as follows:
R-R
R-P ← winner of this game.
And there are no ties for a given game. Throws are compared until a winner is determined; so asking for “5 throws” each time allows for a winner to likely happen on a single submission of throws.
Hence all the “fanfare” when a game goes to 3+ throws.
and if all 5 submitted throws are ties; then another set of 5 throws are submitted by each player, ad nauseum until there is a winner
Lol rookies ![]()
So the second game is from a second set of throws? And extraneous throws from the first game are discarded???
Sounds about right.
Ah, I did not understand that part.
So if we go 7 games we would submit 35 throws? (7 submissions of 5 throws each?)
You’d submit at least 35 throws.
A set of 5 throws that are all ties is effectively ignored.
It is like RPS IRL. You will stand there and throw until someone wins. That is game 1. Then you will start throwing again until someone wins game 2. But since UA doesn’t want this game to go on until September, he asks that you include what you would have thrown had the game gone 5 throws. As soon as someone wins, then you are to game 2 and you start throwing again. The remainder from the first set are discarded.
Though, I thought if you were tied after the initial 5 throws that you only sent 3 in the next set.
I think the discarding of previous unused throws helps UA keep track of what throws to use.
And I have heard of players who submit all of their possible throws for a round at the beginning because they might not have the ability to keep checking to see what is going on and don’t want the dreaded # or be eliminated for failing to provide throws.
